UnMasking: Beyond the Rainbow
November and December 2023UNMASKING: Beyond the Rainbow is a creative writing and performance project where Peggy Douglas created a workshop with ten people who identify as LGBTQ+ on the art of crafting their stories into poetic monologues. Next, the participants were coached by Anne Swedberg and directed by Ryan Laskowski to perform their monologues onstage for the general public. Our goal is to allow the storytellers to connect deeply with those inside and outside their typical social group to reinforce the common bond of our humanness, which is fundamental to our cultural and social well-being.
