The goal of the Roots of Resilience project was to amplify the voices of small to mid-sized family farmers in Meigs County, Tennessee who are building a brighter and more just future for sustainable agriculture.

Southern Exposure Productions worked with the Universitiy of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service and the Meigs County Historical Society to collect farmers' stories that are seldom heard.  These are farmers working hard to address the issues of land access, climate change, USDA accountability, farm methods, economics, and sustainability.

Once the stories of twelve diverse farmers from Meigs County were collected, we transformed them into poetic monologues for an illustrated book and a dramatic monologue performance at the Historical Museum in Meigs County, 200 Smith Avenue, Decatur, Tenneessee.

Showtime: Sunday, June 8 at 2:00 pm
